The Woodlands is a town located in Montgomery County, Texas. The Woodlands is a very wooded master-planned community about 40 miles northwest of Downtown Houston, Texas.

The Woodlands was founded by George P. Mitchell, who just recently changed ownership of The Woodlands to a private developing company. The Woodlands is growing up as a formidable city, as many companies are changing their world headquarters to The Woodlands. Oil giant Anadarko built a 40-story tower near The Woodlands mall in the past year and a half. The Woodlands is located in the Conroe Independent School District, with The Woodlands High School being the primary feeder. Communities close to The Woodlands include Shenandoah and Oak Ridge North.
