New Quena was established by presidential decree (197/2000). It lies north of the Nile 8 Km far from Qena city . The total area of ​​the city is 24.2 thousand acres of which 7.618 acres are built up area. 1548 housing units have already been implemented by Central Development Authority and 141 are planned to be financed by private sectors.
