Satellite city Minhsing is situated 30 km from parent city Shanghai, on the left bank of Hwang River. Minsing is connected to Shanghai by a new motor road built in 1958. Minhsing was designated as a heavy industrial centre. A number of large modern industrial plants and Shanghai largest integrated steel and ironworks were installed in 1958
