Ciudad Sahagun in the state of Hidalgo, is one of Mexico's industrial experiments and was the first industrial city of ist kind. It was one of Mexico's first attempts to undertake regional planning through the development of industrial cities and parks. Although Ciudad Sahagun developed with relatively little succes, ist construction, along with other similar projects developed later, was an example of state intervention as a generator of regional economic spaces.
